The small village of Leeu-Gamka straddles the railway line and the N1 between Laingsburg and Beaufort West. 

The last of the now extinct Cape Lion, was shot at Leeu-Gamka in 1857. Private Schultz, said to be the tallest man in the British army, died here from wounds received in combat during the Anglo-Boer War.  Gamka Olives Farm Accommodation is conveniently situated only 75km from Beaufort West en-route to Cape Town just 3km from the small village of Leeu-Gamka. 

 

The Kalamata Cottage is a self-catering cottage on the edge of the olive orchard.

 

This cottage has two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is ideal for self-catering, with a fridge and microwave. Braai facilities is available. TV with only SABC channels. Air-conditioning in living room and main bedroom.

Frantoio Garden Room:

The Frantoio Garden Room is a self-catering unit next to the main house with a separate entrance. The spacious open-plan living area has a kitchenette with a microwave oven, one plate stove and fridge.  

 

There is a separate bedroom with a double bed.  There is also bunk beds in the living area.  The bathroom has a shower.

 

This unit has a television with SABC Openview channels.  Enjoy the beautiful Karoo evenings and look at the millions of stars that the Karoo is so famous for.
