The small village of Leeu-Gamka straddles the railway line and the N1 between Laingsburg and Beaufort West.
The last of the now extinct Cape Lion, was shot at Leeu-Gamka in 1857. Private Schultz, said to be the tallest man in the British army, died here from wounds received in combat during the Anglo-Boer War. The Frantoio Garden Room is a self-catering unit next to the main house with a separate entrance. The spacious open-plan living area has a kitchenette with a microwave oven, one plate stove and fridge.
There is a separate bedroom with a double bed. There is also bunk beds in the living area. The bathroom has a shower.
This unit has a television with SABC Openview channels. Enjoy the beautiful Karoo evenings and look at the millions of stars that the Karoo is so famous for.
